Numbers 21:4–9; Ephesians 2:1–10; John 3:14–21 (read online ⧉) You may recognize the description of the snake on a stick. This is almost identical to the Rod of Asclepius, which is often used (along with, erroneously, the caduceus) to symbolize medical organizations or people. Asclepius was the Greek god of healing, so it makes sense.
